The central government has allocated 28.6 billion yuan (US$4.2 billion) for agriculture sector subsidies to encourage sowings in this springtime, the Ministry of Finance said on March 1.

The funds include 18.6 billion yuan to support crop breeds purchase and 10 billion yuan to subsidize purchases of agricultural machinery and farm tools, the ministry said on its website.
