On February 16th, Beijing DQY, China's largest egg producer, signed an agreement with Smithfield Foods to develop its first biogas energy project in the U.S., with a capacity of 1 MW, producing 3,500,000 cubic meters of biogas per year, which can be used to produce 7000000 kWh electricity and reduce 42,000 tons of CO2 per year.
Total investment is estimated to reach $1.8 billion, lasting ten years.
