世界家禽大会是国际上历史最久、规模最大的家禽学术活动，每4年举办一次。第25届世界家禽大会(WPC)2016年9月在北京国家会议中心成功召开，这是这一"家禽界的奥林匹克盛会"首次在中国举办，同时中国农业大学教授杨宁成功当选世界家禽学会主席，更是成为首位担任这一职务的中国人。

虽然由于新冠疫情在全球引起的严重影响，原定于2020年8月在巴黎举办的第26届世界家禽大会(WPC Paris)已推迟到2022年8月，但是今年距离于1921年在荷兰举办的第一届世界家禽大会刚好100年。为此，世界家禽学会定于今日(8月10日)举办百年纪念线上活动(WPC Centenary Webinar)。

即使新冠疫情在全球的形势依然严峻，但全球家禽业之间的交流却从未间断;值此之际，全球业界同仁将共聚线上，一同探讨家禽业的挑战并寻找发展机遇;同时，也欢迎大家踊跃参加，关注全球家禽业发展趋势，以求寻“机”避“危”。
